Re: Next Pole
The next logical pole would be a 13' 155 if you have one available. If you blow though that pole too, move to a 13' 160. I would recommend increasing the weight rating of the of the pole before increasing the length. You will go higher using a shorter pole with proper form than a longer pole with po...

Re: College Acceptance
Check out this website. It gives a general range of how good you have to be to potentially earn a track and field scholarship. http://www.athleticscholarships.net/trackandfieldscholarships.htm Of course, different schools have different ideas about offering scholarships. The best thing you can do is...

Looking for ideas: Using volleyball standards to make pole vault standards?
I have a backyard pit but cannot afford to purchase standards. I am trying to figure out how to build my own. I have some portable volleyball standards that are about 9 feet tall or so. Would it be possible to make pole vault standards out of these? I am looking for any ideas or suggestions.

2+ ft. improvement over a summer?
I am a high school senior. I have a PR of 12'6 and am hoping to clear 13+ in my last couple of meets. I really love pole vaulting and want to continue to the college level, but the school I am attending has a walk-on standard of 15'. I am willing to put the time and effort to train this summer, but ...

What size of pole would be best for me?
I am a senior in high school. I weigh 165 lbs. Unfortunately, I am not gifted with overwhelming speed. I have cleared 12' multiple times but have not gone higher in the last 2 years. I use a 13'6 165 pole. I get plenty of penetration into the pit. However, I have tried using a 14' 160 and a 13'6 175...

Looking for advice
I am a high school student. I have just purchased a pit for my home. Can you just use the grass for the runway if the ground is flat? Maybe use strings to define a "path"? Also, does anyone have tips for installing the plant box straight into the ground?

I saw some posts about conveyor belt runways. Where can I get conveyor belt rubber? I haven't had any luck.
