Just a college freshman looking for some Looking for some feedback on the first practice of the year

Some quick info about me: I a freshman at the university of Texas at Tyler. I’ve been vaulting since 8th grade but missed two yesrs due to injuries. I was severely slow in HS because we had poor coaching when it came to running mechanics and never really focused on speed. I was a 5 sport athlete (fo...

New to snatch: video review

So this is only my second time ever lifting snatch. I’m an 18 year old pole vaulter, football player and power lifter. I’m going to college next year to pole vault. I know that the college program will be centered around Olympic lifts so I’ve started working on them. Just wanted some critiques on my...

Re: Too heavy to be a successful vaulter?

5-8 and 153 pounds is not too stocky to vault successfully. But I guess it all depends on your definition of success. To me, success would be to train for pole vaulting with the intent of vaulting as high as you can, for your speed, body weight, and body type. Work on your sprinting technique, and ...

Too heavy to be a successful vaulter?

I'm 15 going into my sophomore year, I've been lifting for about 5 years and it's gotten very strong, but also bulky. I'm currently 5'8" and 153lbs, with less than 10% body fat. I also play football (American), powerlifting, and cross country (mainly just for conditioning, not real fast) my max...
