Re: New High School Girls Sophomore National Record

Agreed -great job - But is she taking off a little under??????? Yeah, she took off a bit under on this video. But from what I've seen from her I don't think it's a regular problem, however that's from an outside observer's perspective. In other videos I've seen I think she's usually right on her to...

Re: New Project Feat. Scott Roth & Others needs funding

Cool Project. You should start a Kickstarter for this! http://www.kickstarter.com I've noticed this whole kickstarter concept flying around with a lot of small independent film groups and artists. The amount of traffic the main site generates alone has the potential to create much more exposure tha...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

Also an important post made much, much more legible lol This took me a good 20 minutes but most of the work was done by a clever computer program. I thought I'd take the time to do it though since I thought the post was important but darn near impossible to read. -Andrew ----------------------------...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

Andrew, You make my points for me. I don't use site enough to do the whole quoting thing.... Sure ------------------------------------------------- ADTF Academy's Post --------------------------------------------------------------- Velocity has a lot to do with biomechanics and physics. True there ...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

Sorry, I think there was a lot of confusion between what we're both saying. Which is fine, this is a very broad thread as you mentioned. Confused on your point speed development is an indication of quality of training both technically and physically. It doesn't answer my comment towards the people w...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

How can you preach biomechanics and physics and than saw raw velocity didn't matter. It's the number one component of the energy equation VELOCITY at the moment of impact. To say a guy who runs 9 m/s can ever jump as high as a guy with 9.8 m/s speed is laughable. The 9.0 m/s guy has no shot if both...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

So just to stir the pot a bit... which is the ONE correct technique that uses "physics" in the long jump? The hitch used by most elite men or the hang still used heavily by elite women? In the shot is it the glide or the spin? In the high jump is it the flop or the roll or the straddle or...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

Take two athletes of equal athletic abilities and background. Give one to a coach who follows the technical model and another to a coach who does not. See which athlete jumps higher after a given period of time. Repeat until results are statistically significant. The athlete that is mentally strong...

Re: Does the Russian model represent ideal technique?

Hello and welcome to the website, 1.Observing and analyizing what elite male fiberglass vaulters actually do in the real world. For the purposes of this article any vaulter who has jumped 19' or better can be considered an elite vaulter. This approach is based on the fact that in the scientific worl...
