Re: Some help needed.

Thats good. I mean the main things are that your recognizing a lot of these things and working on them. how do you actually fix them though? usually little cues, visual cues, physical cues or timing cues. What i mean by this is physically finding certain stages of the vault with your eyes and head p...

Re: Some help needed.

Well thats part of the problem. your run is great. (for the most part) very tall very powerful and it sets you up to really jump up at the takeoff. The transition in the plant is good all of your steps are close to directly underneath your hips and i dont see you striding very much. You also plant e...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

just took another look at the video. I see what your saying altius, im initiating the plant to late. The pole should be parallel with the ground on my fourth left, and my right hand should be moving directly upwards on my fifth left stride. My right hand is moving up a bit late because the pole tip ...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

Thanks tom the changes have been happening rather easily as of late, not sure what the change in mindset is but its working. Altius So to sum up the information you just gave me you believe that im still lowering the pole to late during the run my bottom arm isnt high enough during the pole drop and...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

OK SO here's the latest practice from last evening. I was trying to work on what you 3 had given me, 1) Hips up and forwards during the run to run taller, fix my striding, and increase speed and hip position at the takeoff. 2) right hand carrying the pole higher about at my hip. 3) Fixing my plant m...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

Please don't misunderstand Altius. i wasn't trying to debate at all. I just wanted to know what the goal was from lowering the hand grip 4-6 inches, or what the benefits would be. Simply to expand my knowledge or focus on it while jumping. If you don't have time all is understood, thanks again for t...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

Thanks Altius I really do agree. I need work on the plant mechanics and running with my chest and hips over the balls of my feet from the very first step. which will also fix me striding out the last couple steps. However im already hesitating on swinging all the way back and the pole is unbending b...

Re: Major areas for summer improvement?

Thanks. I appreciate the input! As far as my run goes, i know that bounding in the beginning will just stretch me out, lower my center of gravity and start me off with bad back mechanics for the rest of my run. I know im under but thats a result of leaning back at the takeoff and a bit of the droppe...
