That Jump looks rock solid. Huge progress from
Some of his earlier jumps i have seen. Probably one the best left handed jump of all time. Chris Steddums 5.61 at Bells was totally awesome as well. If you haven't seen it check it out on youtube.

Re: The location of the take off point in fiberglass pole vaulti
Coach hood would advocate jumping "out not up." he was against having too flat of a takeoff. I think his whole thing was based on not sacrificing horizontal velocity to create vertical impulse. I think that he intended to say the same thing as those who say to jump up or say you should hav...

Re: Renaud Lavillenie 5.60 in Heptathlon
Wow, 7.23 in the 60m? You would think a guy rolling 9.7-9.8mps on the runway would bring a little more speed than that in the 60m! I was thinking he would be in the 6.8-6.9 range? Could be indicative that you don't need blazing top end speed to hit high MPS numbers on the vault runway.....Or he just...

ADTF athletes at USA's
Big props to the ADTF Academy vaulters (Mark Hollis 1st, Mary Saxer 3rd) at the USA nationals. Dan has been doing an outstanding job and the results are showing. Look for more huge things coming from Dan & Co. in the near future. Great Job to Dan, Mary, and Mark!!

Re: 2010 San Marcos River Vault
I always loved the river vault. One of the coolest meets ever. If I decided to return to pole vaulting for the 23rd time I will jump there next year. I am little inspired right now--the recent death of one of Americas greatest men, John Wooden, got my blood pumping again when I was reading some of h...

Re: Steve Hooker's New Swing
Here's some trivia... what do you think Petrov told David Butler to do when he showed him video of Jason Colwick and asked what direction to take this vaulter? Curious as to what the answer to this was? I would think that a guy as smart as Petrov knows how damaging it can be to try and re-invent th...

When confronted with the facts or opinions that experts and others present to you that differs from your own, It is good to reflect on a very profound Quote by the great Mike Tully.
