Re: bottom arm plant help

the part about helping you bend the pole but not help to swing, thats my answer for if it should stay rigid or a little flexible. Also his guy has his arm slightly bent The muscle stability thing: how would I go about correcting that? Is it something I should go to the doctor for or just let it ride...

Re: bottom arm plant help

I have another question in regards to this:

When my bottom hand stays completely rigid at the takeoff, I get a large pressure right in the middle of my rib cage that feels as though there is a vice there. But when I bend it slightly at take off, It doesn't happen

Why?

Re: Box Safety

I like the idea except the part about someone moving the pad after the vaulter is in the air...that just smells like trouble. How about just having padding on the inside sides of the box leaving only about 1/3 of the box (which is the most used part) unpadded. The might eliminate a lot of the injuri...

Re: Conference Championship

I'm not voting because my Section has a weird way of doing things: Here's how its broken down in my Area, Largest group to smallest group State -> Section -> County Class -> Conference Class -> Division Class For Example: The State has 11 Sections based on area, the Section has 3 County classes base...

Re: Best New Pole

Thanks for the insight on finding a pole, I never thought of it like that. I do think that something is needed to brdge the gap from the 11' 140s to the 13' 140s And you're right I am holding two inches lower on the 12 150 than the other one, can that really have that much of an affect? I'm landing ...

Re: Best New Pole

I'm positive thats the pole. Anyways, today my coach made a few phone calls and the closest thing he managed to find was a 12' 150. I took some full run ups with it and it felt a little stiffer than my other pole but I was able to swing up a couple times. I feel like it'll take me about a week to ad...

Re: Best New Pole

Thanks for the input so far, and yea I know it stinks, but I do a lot of pole run ups with heavier poles so a move to a heavier pole might not affect me as much during approach. I held the 12' 4" 140 at 11'8" (The Highest allowed for high school at 6" under the top) I bend the pole qu...

Best New Pole

Hey guys, So today I found out that the pole i've been using for the past month or so belongs to another school and they want it back by tomorrow  So my question is, what new pole is best for me from the ones I have in stock at my school: Height: 5' 6" Weight: 127 6-step: 69' 6" ...

Re: Recent jumps

I'm no expert, but as the bar goes up it looks like you cut your swing off more and more by turning too early. I can't be sure if its because you are blowing through your pole or if there is a technique problem. Just keep an eye on that. You looked real good when the bar was lower.
Just my two cents

I agree here, even for running my preference are 1/4" pyramids
