Re: Badass Mondo Wins the IAAF World Youth Championship

I guess competing for Sweden is "easier" when it comes to qualification for international competition. The USATF trial system might not be the best for preparing for big meets. In Sweden (and other countries) you take the qualification mark early in the season and then prepare. Whatever co...

Re: Next pole vault star ?

Seems like a promising guy! But there is always a long way from 5 to 5,80. He is jumping nice, but I don´t agree about the plant. He is far under and have a "huge" bend in the pole before he leaves the ground. So I believe he should work on the plant more than on the speed (should always w...

Re: Pop on top

Thanks a lot for all the advices. We have tried to work on not blocking, and also on swinging faster. I believe it´s still a way to go, but I am happy with the progress. Here is a jump from last week, the bar is 11´10", grip is 12´7". Pole 13´1´´/118. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1...

Pop on top

I would be happy to get some suggestions to get more "pop on the top". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTfOSPxtfYY I believe his plant is OK, but nothing "happens" on the top. Any suggestions and/or drills are deeply appreciated. The boy vaulting is 14 years old, height 5 feet 2 i...

Renaud Lavillenie 6,01 ! Over 6,07 but red flag

European Champion Renaud Lavillenie with a great competition. All heights in first attempt 5.61: 5.76: 5.86: 5.91: 6.01 He cleared 6.07 as well but the bar was catched above the peg. He was of course totally disappointed first celebrating his new PR and the second highest jump in the world. Then the...

Vault Box Collar in Europe

It might sound strange for an American. But I have never seen a Vault Box Collar in Scandinavia (other than the one I brought from California myself). But now Nordic Sport has made two versions for sale. This "standard" version http://www.nordicsport.com/product/41360/Vault_Box_Collar and ...
