This birth date confirmation today from Heinrich Hubbeling--

Re: Pre Start Lists

Your earlier post on the Pre starters included Suhr. What has happened between. I hope not an injury.

Re: National Record at Age 14!

Sorry 'bout that--pretty clumsy of me to omit the name. It is Hussiem Asim Al Hizam, and his record clearance was in winning the Saudi League Championships for Federation Schield at Riyadh on 9 May 2012. The passport photo Hubbeling attached confirmed the birthdate.

National Record at Age 14!

Heinrich Hubbeling, best known for his great coverage of Asian results and records, sent this message yesterday-- Dear friends, herewith I attach two files concerning the new KSA-Record of 4.90 m, which was achieved by a young boy, who was born 4th Jan 1998 according to the attached document (passpo...

Re: ‘Dr. Ellis’ puts pole vault firmly in her past

An interesting article, but one small correction: Ellis' 2007 national record was improved to 4.55 by Kelsie Hendry in Prince Albert on 14 June 2008. Kelsie also holds the Canadian indoor record with the same height, at Flagstaff, in 2010.

Re: T&FN World Rankings

It would be interesting to know what other factors than seasonal best height and date T&FN considers in its rankings. Comparing these lists with those of Mirko Jalava <tilastopaja.net>, which are based on height/date, I see these differences, with the T&FN ranks shown in parentheses: Women's...

NATIONAL RECORDS

I will post, as separate mailings, the men’s and women’s national outdoor records as I have them filed for the end of the 2011 season. As always, corrections and additions (to rruth@shaw.ca) will be much appreciated. You may find the chart columns align best if they can be converted to 10-pt courier...

Re: Vaulters Large & Small

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, Heather, but my focus was on how different one’s body dimensions can be and still jump at heights that define the top 500 in the world. I would have thought there might have been a source of some pride in being able to make that list while shown at more than five pound...

Vaulters Large & Small

Always something of interest to be found in Mirko Jalava's best performances lists <tilastopaja.org>. This time, what caught my attention in the 2011 outdoor lists was maximum and minimum heights and weights of the women at or above his list threshold of 3.70 meters and of the men at or above 5.00 m...
