Re: M-F Athletics: Rocket pole?

Is it a good pole - yes - designed similar to a Skypole - except (used to be) made using e glass which makes it very slightly heavier than an s glass pole -- unless you are an elite will not make a difference - good solid durable poles

Re: Incidents Involving Winged Box Collars

I have a 2015 Rule book at home and will quote or scan and attach the section -- later tonight 2015 Rule 7 Section 5 Art 14 -- "Plant box padding meeting the applicable ASTM Specification Standards is required and shall cover any hard and unyielding surface including between the planting box an...

Re: Spiked pole

Re: interpretation of rule change

Yes - but with the box collar the pole would initially move away - so now it makes it even harder for the official - attempt to push pole back versus the box collar then rebounded back into the crossbar -- not pushing back at all is different -

Re: Incidents Involving Winged Box Collars

Some of the wording from the ASTM std -- "allow the pole to bend undisturbed" "5.11 The bend cavity must allow the pole to bend into the corners formed by the sidewalls and the strike plate" -- Which do you think in compliant with these parts of the ASTM standard -- now if we are...

Re: Incidents Involving Winged Box Collars

So in your opinion the Gill collar meets this std - or did ASTM appoint you as the person that decides - I will also stated and have for two years that the Gill collar does not meet all of the wording in ASTM std -- this has been relayed to Gill and their upper management contacted to me to discuss ...

Re: Incidents Involving Winged Box Collars

NFHS stated they require compliance with ASTM - it is the manufacture that states they comply -- NCAA stated they need to be version with wings - NFHS does not - so the UCS is acceptable -Gill says/implies that NFHS requires wings which is not true - NFHS requires an ASTM box collar

Re: Incidents Involving Winged Box Collars

Gill continues to advertise that winged collars are required for High School - yes NCAA specifically required them- yet the emails I have from the powers to be at NFHS do not back that up -- also - Wings are not a problem if you fix the design -- posted that almost two years ago - concept is fine - ...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

"Here F(tens) is the force on the pole, and one can see its greatest at the perpendicular to the ground and grows smaller as the swing progresses" - true statement if the brick wall (top hand grip location on the pole) is fixed (which it is not - since it moves upward and toward the pit - ...
