So.. I get up and go to get some breakfast at 4:30am and run into people I know that have yet to go to bed. And for some reason, as soon as you tell people you got up at 4am to watch the Olympic pole vault prelims, you get made out to be the weird one!

Re: Isi's black stuff

If one of my team mates reads this post and starts ruining my tape jobs I will hunt you down sir! I already can not stand all the chalk drying out the tape... If you put your hands over your head, are not 10 feet under, and have any hand strength, you do not need anything!

Re: Good way to train without practice?

Do you have a scale at home? If so, throw it away or burn it. If you are lifting 2-3 times a week and running every day along with all the high bar stuff I am willing to bet 1200 calories is not going to be anywhere near what you need. When it comes to sports weight does not matter, it is about how ...

Re: Homemade pole bag

you can buy all the material for probably 20-50 dollars. As long as you have a good sewing machine it is not hard. Just depends on your craft making skills. Friend of mine made one a while ago that was really nice. Just get some vinal material from an upholstery shop and make it inside out, then fli...

Re: Lipscomb looking for PV coach

Maybe this needs a new thread but it is somewhat related since they have so many demands looking for a succesful Coach to volunteer. I would figure if they were succesful they would be somewhere that paid. What are the most succesful programs that currently have volunteer pole vault coaches? Only tw...

Re: Title IX: A Touchy Topic

I still just can not get past the interpretation of equal opportunity automatically equals forced equality. The truth behind the numbers is not always that the same amount of men and same amount of women want to do sports at a certain institution. This is evident with how if a university has try out...

Re: Title IX: A Touchy Topic

Why does no one talk about it: No one is willing to discuss the problems created by a law that was created to help women without being called a sexist. I dunno, I see plenty of people talking about it, but maybe I am biased because between undergrad and grad school, I've heard a ridiculous amount o...

Title IX: A Touchy Topic

It is the 40th anniversary of Title IX and I honestly think it is the best law that is the most abused or misinterpreted law of all time. I recently saw some quotes about how women still have a ways to go to catch up to men in sports, and why men still have the advantage: At the most competitive lev...
