Pole vault standards in Michigan
Clearly pole vault standards in Michigan must be sky high at present. No interest in a clinic run by a guy who has studied with the best in the world and used that knowledge to produce a host of vaulters from our tiny state to match anything produced in the great State of Michigan. But "'cest l...

Re: forcing and controlling the bend
And folk criticise me for self promotion! But I should point out that we do have one lad going to the world juniors in Eugene and one going to the Youth Olympics in China. Do two internationals trump a load of state champions?

Re: Begginer with a lot to improve
A good athlete - good runner. IMHO her biggest problem - as a beginner -is her inability to swing into a complete turn over the bar. Simple go back to 6 steep -3 lefts - put the bar at one meter - three jumps with an emphasis on swing and turn -to look back at you standing on the runway. Then put th...

Re: A very talented beginner
"or collect dribs and drabs of information, use internet or old mythical slang terms. Either may work," But the first approach will not work as well as the well thought through logical approach based on the advanced technical model used by Bubka = an approach that has been used with great ...

Re: A very talented beginner
Well come on folks - what must we improve and how do we go about it?????? This is a girl who US coaches will be chasing in two years time - and for a couple of years afterwards - IF she improves critical aspects of her technique. Do I need to give her a lecture on the way the pole rotates in the box...

Do you ever get the feeling that we are wasting our time coaching in the 'real' world. No one else seems to be interested in it!

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record
What often seems to be forgotten in this whole - often misguided - discussion is that Petrov and Bubka did not arrive at the technical model the latter employed by trial and error. As I point out somewhere in BTB -sorry folks -it was the result of a determined effort on the part of the soviets to be...

"Oh thats right, I'm just seeing thing again, as I'm delusional!"
Well I suppose that recognising the problem is a start towards recovery! But you probably need to talk to some professionals in the mental health field to speed the process up.

Re: Swing Efficiency Comparison: Bubka, Tradenkov, Lavillenie
'Lavellenie on the other hand though outside of that box and proved that a shorter, slower man can vault higher than the faster taller man with a more efficient swing.' I will wait to be proved wrong but I doubt that he did much THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX as his technique evolved!!! And what makes you...

Kirk -you appear to be joining pvstudent in chucking pearls into the swine pen. Why do you bother - you know they will simply be vomited back at you with negative interest. I am just happy to find that pvdaddy appears to have a copy of the dreaded book - but I don't think he is reading it very caref...
