Re: Commonwealth Games Men's Results

My mistake, Alan. It was the Goodwill Games. You're correct, as expected with your plethora of historical knowledge. I'm still wondering why you can't spell my name correctly after all of these years. It's Morry! No "ie". Regardless of the history and spelling errors, it seems like a prett...

Re: Commonwealth Games Men's Results

Winning jump was 5.55m? I remember watching Jeff Hartwig win that meet with 6.01m. Must have been some bad weather at this meet.

Re: This is why the new box collar is more dangerous

This box collar slides up (towards the runway) each time a vaulter's pole hangs up on it while exiting the pit. I actually added 5 times the amount of Velcro that comes with the $600 + $138.00 shipping with fuzzy instructions that look like a 3rd grader ran through a copier and it still slides. We h...

Re: Golden West Invitational

Sadly, that's the way it was heading back in 2005 when I took some kids out there. It was held in Folsum that year and sponsored by Adidas. Used to be, they invited the top 8 in the country in each event and those top 8 didn't decline because it was a very prestigious meet. You had that and the Keeb...

Re: Peaking at the big meets

I think I have to remember # 3 and 4 in particular, though my confidence is a bit shaken right now. I made a bad call, and it cost a girl a trip to the state meet. ... I never dreamt that we would have to bury the standards on the 125, much less have her blow through. This has been very humbling fo...

Re: Peaking at the big meets

How do you prepare vaulters for competition at big meets...the ones where you qualify for state, nationals, etc., or you go home...and what is your decision making process while coaching in these meets? A brief history...switched to coaching pole vault 8 years ago after some fairly successful years...

Nice! What weight pole was she on compared to her body weight? How fast is she in the 100m or other short sprint race? She was on a 160 and weighs 127. Her fastest 100m hurdles is 15.02. LJ 18'03". Nice! Congrats to all involved! Am I gonna be able to meet her this weekend in JB? More importan...
