Re: Weighing vaulters....

That is true :D ..I bought the 14'3 190,195,200 and 14'9 185. The only pole one of the HS kids has not used at some point is the 200 though. I actually have a girl on the the 12'4" 160 thru 175. she weighs 140. She just doesn't vault as well on the 13'3" yet... holding the same grip. That...

You have some very stiff, short poles.

Re: Weighing vaulters....

The rule is simple... if you follow it from day one you will be stiff pole vaulting for a while... just like back in the "old days". Don't follow the rule and you may eventually find yourself at big meet on a pole you never mastered, gripping too high and landing in the box. I do not coac...

Re: American vaulters over 5.50m

The quick answer is "a lot."

In 2010, so far 15 have, in 2009 14 did indoors and 18 did outdoors (mostly the same people), in 2008-an Olympic year, USA had 25 outdoors...

Re: Buka says current pole vaulters lack technique

Alas, I wake up and Hooker is still millimeter by millimeter laboring away towards 6.10m. Lets not forget Bubka jumped 6.00m in June of 1985, and he didn't jump 610 until March of 1991. He then jumped 615 in February of 1993 (and then 614 in June of 1994...which I admit is news to me, I thought he ...

Re: Weighing vaulters....

Part of the problem is schools buying poles that are too light for their vaulters. A good percentage of HS girls weigh between 121-130 and 131-139. So every HS should probably have an 11'130 and 11'140 in stock. An 11'140 was the pole I used the most at my last HS. It's all relative. Saying someone...

MIT actually has a pretty good D3 PV program, they have had a handful of guys at the national meet in the vault and others on the national honor roll.

Nathan Ball I think was there most decorated at the national level, 4th place outdoors, 7th indoors, 2005

Re: Heim 4.10, DIII National Record?

Could be for indoors...a Rachel Secrest from NCC jumped 412 outdoors last year.

I am not able to find archived honor rolls since Trackshark used to be my reference and has since closed down.

Here is the all time D3 outdoors list.
