Re: Mt Sac Camp

I was in the beginners group (only 11 for me so far). I was the guy from El Rancho. Everyone at camp knew me because I got there early with one of the Mt Sac guys (he and another one of the people over there went to my school). The only regret I had is that my hamstring was killing me the whole camp...

Re: Mt Sac Camp

Well here's my take on the camp: Brian is a GREAT coach, he knew what he was talking about and explained it very thoroughly. There were a lot of coaches and assistants, so everyone got a lot of individual attention, plus we learned the basics (the beginners) and the more advanced group probaly got m...

Re: Vaulting Weight

I decided to continue to add to this discussion... Summer of '07: 5'8.5" 125 lbs. Bench: 190 Squat: 205 Clean: 145 Obviously there should be some alarm here with my squat and bench numbers being nearly even. I have some pretty bad knees, so I couldn't squat much. I could deadlift pretty well th...

Re: Fred

A few weeks pass, and Fred's first meet comes. It's cold... Fred tells Jed to grab all the poles and put them into the bus aisle, and to tell people not to walk on them if they could help it. People do, but Jed doesn't care that much... he's too excited about his first meet! When the Hogs arrive at...

Re: how do you count steps

Okay, you know. I really don't know how to explain what it is that I do so that its easy to understand just by reading it. I will address one last thing though. Yes, consistant spots, I use them in like a meet but we're told to be able to jump from anywhere any other time; doing this gives us a goo...

Re: Fred

Another vaulter on Fred's team, Red, reminded him that a strong core was good for vaulters to have. So, Fred started doing sit ups every day (again) and got back in the weight room working on his bench press, which was now up to 115 (Fred weighs 130). Fred gets all his papers turned in for outdoor ...
