Biggest Indoor Vaulters

Not a terribly exciting topic, but I was curious how tall and heavy vaulters could be and still make the world list. You might be, too. Biggest of the men, in both height and weight, was Jeremy Scott of the USA, ranked #28 at 5.55m. Jeremy is 208cm x 91kg. That's huge: 6'9" x 200 lbs. Top vault...

NEW INDOOR RECORDS

The following are new indoor records set in the 2011 season. As always, corrections and additions will be appreciated. My primary sources have been Mirko Jalava's world lists <tilastopaja.org> and Michel Saint-Roman's records website <athlerecords.net>. I also have appreciated Heinrich Hubbeling's e...

Re: Suhr Thing Article

Given his many valued contributions to PVP, I hesitate to correct anything Bubba writes, but he does offer: "An achilles injury forced Jenn to miss last season. That's why her record jump was such an accomplishment this year. But if you spend time with the Suhrs, it's not the records and plans ...

Commonwealth Games Entry Lists

The Commonwealth Games Website is not yet showing startlists for either the men's or women's PV events. They show the men's qualifications for Saturday, 9 October, and their finals for Monday, 11 October; but only full entry lists. For the women, they show their finals for Tuesday, 12 October, but n...

National Outdoor Seasonal Bests--Men

(Some) Men's National Bests for 2010 Outdoor Season My original intention was to post a full list of national bests for the season. It quickly became obvious that I didn't have access to most of the data. As usual, Mirko Jalava's season rankings were the best source, but only for women's marks at or...

Continental Cup Women - Feofanova 4.70, Ryzih 4.60

It couldn't have come as much as of a surprise for Svetlana to come out on top at Split, since the weak field would have made it seem almost a cinch that she or Fabiana Murer should win. Murer's seasonal best of 4.85m was the only SB of any contestant better than Feofanova's 4.75. The results: 1. Fe...

Re: Isi bored, will return in February

I don't suppose Isi would be motivated by that Diamond League season-winner's $40,000. But it seems to me I remember something like a million dollars per year of commercial endorsements she was to receive. Does she still get that for her non-season? Sorry if I'm badly wrong on her contract monies, b...

Re: Men's National Outdoor Records 8/20/10

A few changes in the men's list since I sent this version to Rainbowgirl: The name of the Irish record co-holder should be Donegan, not Dunnigan. The Madagascar record is Florian Henry's 4.60m at Aulnay-sous-Bois on 2004-07-07. The Zimbabwe record has been improved to 4.56m by Glen Barrett at Melbou...

Re: Women's Outdoor National Records 8/21/10

Sorry--apparently I was wrong in the 4.35m update. Athletics Ireland's website shows the current record as Pena's 4.15 at Barcelona on 2010-07-28.
