Re: Typical HS pettiness
I can understand, why a volunteer official would be more concerned about the actual competition and safety of the vaulters and not their fashion. My primary concern is to officiate a safe and fair competition for the athletes. Not what has been deemed unsavory fashion. As a coach, if your athlete ca...

I don't know about moving those standards, I think Demi's coach has her headed in the right direction.

Re: NCAA outdoor schedule
This is going to be such an anticlimatical meet. Jump til we have 12 and shut it down. Fortunately for pole vault fans up to that point this meet should be great up to that point. So many great athletes, no regional winner. I still expect great performances to get to that 12, it is just going to fee...

Re: Elite Sportz San Antonio- Pole Vault And Waterski Camps
I have always thought this has to be the most fun camp in Texas. Pole vaulting and waterskiing? Great coaching? If I wasn't old and arthritic, this is where I would be.

Re: 2010 NFHS Rules You Should Know for Pole Vault
I have had this happen during practice, very strange feeling being surrounded by what seemed to be a million bees. They swarmed by us and took refuge in the big live oak by the runway. We all stood still, they gathered in big clumps and we proceeded to jump. Creepy. I believe I would have given your...

Re: Jordan Scott, Jason Colwick 5.71m at Texas Relays
Me too, Jordan was needing more recovery time, asked for the pass and was given it. I think if the wind had been as favorable at the beginning of the competition, they would have both passed to higher bars. The wind was a little swirly when they warmed up and when the comp started. We had straight, ...

Also wanted to comment on the toughness of Air Force cadet Nick Frawley, Nick warmed up to compete after suffering a horrible(but funny, now that he is ok) accident last week. I can't describe it well, so check it out on youtube, search for nick frawley and it comes up pretty quick. My hat's off to ...
