Re: Coaching in Columbus, OH
And what are the limits on the football staff? 11.7.2 Bowl subdivision Football. [FBs] There shall be a limit of one head coach, nine assistant coaches and four graduate assistant coaches who may be employed by an institution in bowl subdivision football. *Service academies get 4 more coaches if th...

Re: big pole jump?
That would just make it the same as a UCS 15' 195. ?? He quoted that to have an equal flex with the new pole he would need to go up 10 inches. Since he was gripping 14'5 that would mean he would be gripping 15'3 on the new pole. If he had a system to flex the poles, and a 15'3 grip on the 15'6 14.3...

Re: big pole jump?
confirmed: your quote below tells the story ...flexed them both for me to show where the flexes would be identical depending on where i held and i would have to jump up 10" to achieve the same flex on the bigger pole. He said he gripped 14'5 and would need to grip up 10 inches to have the same...

Re: big pole jump?
To put it another way, your 15'6 (14.3) is like a 15' (11.9) so essentially on the 15' scale, you are going from a (15.3) to an (11.9) IMHO V I do not agree with this. Most companies, although they can not be held one beside the other, do make their systems remotely the same when it comes to the we...

Re: Vault Box Collar in Europe
The second one, the one with wings, just looks like the standard UCS one that has the wings to keep the box from sliding (you can Velcro it to the box if you really want). It says additional padding on the Nordic page but it does not go much farther than what appears to be about an inch into the box...

Re: NCAA Crossbar rule change 2013-2014
This years AGX bars will outperform every bar made to date. Check out the 2013 Gill catalog for details. I am trying to locate that testing video so I can post it.
And every pole vaulter that just does not hit the cross bar will outperform every crossbar every made!

Re: big pole jump?
so a while back i was jumping on a 15' 180 UCS spirit holding about 14'5" with a 15.5 flex. after i while i was blowing through it so we bought the next step up, a 15'6" 180 UCS but the flex was a 15.3 so i could only move my grip up an inch or two without mushing out the pole. so about 2...

Re: Trouble penetrating when swinging
My guess would be you do not have a powerful swing. Basic physics here: If you just plant a pole and ride it in without swinging up your bodies center of mass stays down below your hands so your potential energy (how high you are) stays low, but your kinetic energy (how fast and deep into the pit yo...

VaultPurple, Beyond jealous. Do you have a mat filling the "gap" between the front buns of the side without the standards? Is that the purple color I see in the pic there? You are correct. Here is a better image of the plug: https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/563938_3257036008464...

Sarasota, Florida
Does anyone know of any tracks, coaches, or athletes currently training in Sarasota, FL?
I currently am working with a lady who is doing an internship in Sarasota and is looking for somewhere to train for 8 weeks.

Re: Another "is he/she suitable"
If you have a good coach in your area that is willing to let her mess around with it then it could be a fun experience as long as she just sticks to it for fun and a learning process as first. At her current height and weight she is probably not going to destroy any records, but could still have a l...
