Re: Looking for a pit.

I have one that's a little rough. It has some mat deterioration going on, but everything else about it is decent. Can send pics.

Call me @ nine-0-three 6-four-1 nine-5-two-5 - I can text pics.

Re: Critique my 2nd to last practice before states

Look at your left hand/arm at the plant. It's already collapsed. When you plant, you want to jump and drive into the pit. Your hands must be as high as possible. Basically, jump as high and hard as you can with your hands as high as possible. The goal is to move the pole to vertical, and we do that ...

Re: Critique my 2nd to last practice before states

Trying to cram in new information into your technique a few days before a major meet is probably not the right time to do so. That's what off-season is for. You are now at the culmination of your previous practices. At this point, just do what you know how and focus on what you are good at. Use the ...

Re: Andy Kim's Senior Season Log

Congratulations on the PR! Continue to drop back into the shoulders. Remember, Bubka said it was always his intention to be completely upside down (or even a little past vertical) while the pole is still bent. Get on a high bar two days this week and do some more Bubkas, and this time get your body ...

Re: Andy Kim's Senior Season Log

To answer your question: You need to allow the shoulders open up as you cover the pole. To cover the pole completely and get upside down, after take off, your feet swing to your hands, you press the hips in while pushing the feet up, and while this is happening you want to allow your shoulders to op...

Re: Want to get onto bigger pole, Crushing pole in this video?

Video is not great, but I feel most certain that you are under. If you pause at the 1 second mark in your video and draw a straight line down from your top hand, your left foot is almost a foot in front. Try adjusting your steps to get yourself into prime take off position. Since you are under, you ...

Re: Pit full of dust and pollen

I may just try both sheets and Tyvek house wrap. Doubling up may be better in the long run.

Re: Please Critique

It would appear to me that you are under at take off. Also, your bottom arm collapses almost instantly when you plant. You should be pushing the pole away from you, which is hard to do with the pole on your chest. When your bottom arm collapses too soon, the hips will begin the swing too Soon. On th...

Pit full of dust and pollen

I just recently purchased a used pit that has been out in the elements for about 2 years. It was under some bleachers at a football stadium, so although it did not receive direct hits from rain etc, it did manage to still get wet and soak up a lot of dust as well as the foam deteriorating slightly. ...
