Re: Rigid Bottom Arm

Thanks for all the positive feedback! Practice today was better, still blocked out a little bit but that freeze frame really helped me out Cleared an 11'6" bungee repeatedly on a 13' 150 I also landed much farther into the PLZ than i did yesterday, so all these ideas and drills are working well...

Re: Getting inverted

definitely high bar drills, they are so similar to gymnastics but help you get more of a feel for the actual feeling of being inverted on the pole I'm sure you've done most of these before: http://www.polevaultpower.com/media/video/skillsanddrills/ Also just doing 3 step drills where you use a long ...

Rigid Bottom Arm

Hey all, So today while jumping from 6 lefts on a 13' 150 ( I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs) a college vaulter told me that I had one of the best plants he's ever seen and that i just need to fix my rigid bottom arm EDIT: gripping at about 11'9" Apparently, I've been planting great but keep my lower ...

Re: Help!! I keep on turning around after take off!

Lower your hand grip a little bit and gradually do that until you can land straight while swinging, then once you get it try to move back up!

Re: Take-Off Drill

As a high school athlete, I can say that Kirk's drill is probably the best but powerplants/becca's is more practical in setting up. I usually like doing these kinds of drills on days where it is too cold or the weather doesn't let us set up the mats to do drills like these. Any ground work or indoor...

Re: Yikes!

Thanks for the help!

I tried that and the 13' 150 is duable but is still a little stiff, its a skypole and is probably about 10 or so years old. The 13'6 140 is a Pacer that is brand new, just bought this year.

Counties, tomorrow!

Yikes!

Alright so heres the bad news.... I'm on a 12' 6" 145 Pacer holding at 12' right now, but im over bending it like crazy, and im not pulling on it according to the feedback i've heard... so clearly I need a new pole, but my PR hasn't increased to where I wanted to be at this point while on that ...

Re: Stuck in a Rut, Need Some Help

When I was in high school, the first time i cleared 14' 6" and won a meet, a father came up to me and said "hey nice jump, but you have to remember the sky is unlimited, there is always another bar." So that put a damper on my whole day, BUT months later i figured out the punch line,...
