Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

Your right Kirk I have to learn how to use this forum reply properly. The last quote was my own and I should have made that more clear. English was not my strong suit as I always found it very boring so please forgive my punctuation and spelling errors as well. But to get to the point. Please tell m...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

Altius could this perhaps be the statement in Neovault that your refering to? Could you perhaps be the one making that statement and perhaps even the author of the article? Just a guess? Then the magic! From the position ‘covering the pole’, Bubka punched the hips upwards as the his back drives back...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

Pretty good day today. My kid added 1 ft. to his PB today after improvement on pole drop, and left hand pull for a total increase this season of 3FT 2 inches on a pole that is to light with standards set at 28. Still a pretty good improvement and mental state for heading into States on Saturday. May...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

There has never been any doubt to me that Bubka pulls after take off, but what I am focusing on is WHEN Bubka pulls after take off! AS I have previously posted,I believe that when and how he pulls is one of many critical details that has made him superior in his left hand pull to any other human sta...

I could care less. Dont be rediculous, every aspect of Bubkas vault makes him great. I may make a comment o...

Maybe Agapit knows, he was in Russia at the time this all developed after all. Can it be performed by young...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

I understand what Petrov has said in the Model. I am a believer in the Model. Read my previous post were I described 5 elements of the vault. But after studying Bubkas Vault I can tell you right now that there are Many ( and we always said, "Its the little Nuances in technique that make all the...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

Kirk, What is more important in PV Penetration or Jump? Does Jumping effect Penetration? If a person is running and Jumps upward and you filmed it. Should you be able to notice at what point that person Jumped upward by watching the top of the head? Watch Bubka is there any point during his take off...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

Kirk, thank-you for the information reguarding how you generated so much speed in your swing. "Jump to the Split Position - and Lift Trail Leg Back." I always thought that something special was happenning with Bubkas take off foot when he took off that was different then his normal sprint ...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

One point that Agapit makes that I don't nescessarily agree with is that the speed of the swing comes from the pulling of the left hand. A rubberband stretch From the top hand to the toe of the swing leg from the inverted-C and the contraction the lower abdominals makes much more sense and that is w...

Re: Pole Vault Manifesto

"In fact, coaching a high-schooler to NOT penetrate his chest, and to PULL as soon as he takes off is dangerously counterproductive" First of all it would not make sense to teach a High School vaulter not to penetrate with the chest because the Petrov Model specifically instructs deep ches...
