Re: NCAA DI to go to East-West regional qualifying
This is a proposal that sounds better then what they are thinking. If it has to be an East-West regional, this seems like a way better way to run the meet. We may know more after the coaches convention coming up next week. I am undecided how I feel about the team scoring part of this proposal though...

Re: Late Walk-On Question
Also, If you want to have any chance you need to be registered with the NCAA eligibility center. It used to be that if you spent a year at an institution you were exempt from having to register and pay the fee, but this is no longer the case as of this year. So if you have any desire at all I would ...

Re: NCAA DI to go to East-West regional qualifying
In the East Ohio State could do it (granted it is a terrible place to PV - almost guarenteed crosswind), I forget if Tennessee is in the East or West but they have parallel runways

Re: NCAA DI to go to East-West regional qualifying
Nothing that I have read has said that they are going to do a qualifying round in the field events. This only being a three day meet it seems like they do not plan to have qualifying rounds. Has anyone heard one way or the other? One final with 48 competitors would be an absolute nightmare.

Re: NCAA DI to go to East-West regional qualifying
Yes, that is true, I agree fully with you Becca, but that doesn't change the fact that there will be chasing of marks and the fact that is seems like one region will be tougher to get into then another. I guess maybe the East needs to get in the game, but to me it just doesn't seem like a better sys...

Re: NCAA DI to go to East-West regional qualifying
I see some real logistical nighmares ahead with this new system. First of all will they jump on two pits? I could see them jumping 48 athletes on one pit and it being awful. Also, I don't believe that there are going to be a qualifying day and a finals day for the vault...they are saying the meet is...
