Re: Need ideas.
That's pretty impressive on a 6-step. Like what Barto said, I'd work on your sprinting. What pole are you jumping on and what's the height at on the Video?

Re: 13 year old NY state record holder
Her most obvious fault right now is that she's throwing her head back. I believe this is causing her back to arch. Instead, she should be striving to CURL her back ... so that her hips can rise above her hands. Kirk I agree with Kirk, this is a must-fix if she wants to go higher, not to mention it ...

Re: Looking for somewhere to vault over summer
Did you try a different computer? I've opened it up on about 10 different computers over the last few weeks and it's worked everytime. It's a PDF file, maybe your Adobe isn't updated?

we refer to this as the "Mark of the BA". Like what Kirk said, when you start to extend more it'll go away.

Re: Pflibsen of Streator (IL) goes 17'0
I'm really not sure... There were 2 lightning delays, after the 2nd delay they decided to cancel all outdoor events. The High Jump and Pole vault was already moved inside the fieldhouse at that point. Either way, I was running the vault and that kid is sick. I was running the vault and did not have ...

Pflibsen of Streator (IL) goes 17'0
Last night at the Seeger's Invite in Sycamore IL, Logan Pflibsen of Streator made 17'0. The pole vault was moved inside before the meet started due to high winds. I'm not sure if it officially counts though since the entire meet was cancelled when we had the bar at 13'0. They let us finish the vault...

Re: Need some help
Kirk - I've always trained my guys to land on their backs or butts. Before this I havn't had an athlete sprain an ankle for about 4 years. Sure enough the second I post on this thread, boom down goes my boy :crying: What makes it better is the fact the trainers couldn't be found for 30 minutes

Re: Need some help
I'm with Kirk, dont' ever land on your feet! Have had 1 athlete do that and he sprained his ankle pretty good. Also, taking off under kills your swing as kirk points out. Planting tall (with your top hand directly above you) and taking off strong with your left foot underneath your hip, not out in f...

Re: Finals in 2 weeks! Please help!
You definitely know what you are doing and you are pretty smooth in the air. From what I saw on the video though, the angle wasn't the best but it looks like your plant is way down. You're not getting a whole lot of bend out of the pole. Basically you stiff-poled 10ft which is pretty impressive. Do ...
