Another OPEN meet coming up in Birmingham

I have been contacted about another indoor meet to be held at the Birmingham Crossplex. It is billed as the "TFCUSA Indoor Nationals" and would be held Sunday March 1st, 2015 . It is another age-group meet, open to clubs/unattached, and has an "Open" division. So it's another cha...

Re: "Open" Meet - Birmingham, Al. - Dec. 27th

Once again it was a well run meet. It is curious though that there is still confusion among the USATF officials as to whether vaulters can see video of themselves during the event. Hopefully a consensus on this will be accepted soon. Here are results for the "19 and Over" division. Name Ag...

Re: Pre-season Training

Sit-ups, push-ups, and crunches are a good start. DO you have access to a climbing rope? Rope drills are a big plus. (I'm sure someone can explain this better than me but here it goes) - Grab the rope like you would if it was a pole and you had planted it. Now, keeping your left leg straight (if you...

Re: Request for old Track & Field gear

Ah - those damn Cloud 9s! And have any of you tried to walk gracefully off of a Cloud 9 without tripping? Kirk :D Rolling off it was the only safe and dignified(?) way to extract yourself from the thing. That Cloud 9 was a career saver! Our school had no polevault facility of it's own and bein...

Re: Request for old Track & Field gear

My dad might still have the triangular Gill cross bar I used to practice with. I'll try to remember to check. No one uses it anymore. BTW, I also have the 2 piece standards with the round base. I also have a "Cloud 9" inflatable pit ... but, I had kids jumping on that just a couple of year...

Masters Athletics Rankings

This seems like a good place to re-post this. Perhaps the moderator could make it a "sticky" if it seems appropriate. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Did you know you can see performances and rankings from your country, WMA region (Oceania, Asia, EVACS, South America, Africa and NCCWMA) a...

Re: Lifting weather cover to prevent pool

My dad throws some old sofa cushions in the middle of his pit before we pull the cover over it. You don't really need much elevation. We lay them in a line so they form a small ridge. As long as it is even a little higher in the middle the water runs to the side and doesn't pool. The nice thing abou...

Re: Any street vaults in the south east coming up?

Here is one that sounds interesting - "P.V. BATTLE FOR THE UNDERGROUND" http://www.pvunderground.com/ The location is Crystal City, Mo. - just south of St. Louis According to their flier, it is being held in a cave! Also "The Runway will be IAAF approved and certified. With Mondo trac...
