Re: RENAUD LAVILLENIE WORLD RECORD 6.16!!!!!!!!!!!

The step may have been "on" in looks at the takeoff, but as I said before, it was reported that he was up to 2 feet outta his mid....which means he had to stretch to get there... Slowing down, poor posture, flat takeoff on a big pole and high grip... This is one of those times you have to ...

Re: Lavillenie vs Bubka

Compare SB to RL I will take an unbiased, simple approach.. and compare the three phases, as I see them. (just as I have previous with Tim Mack's best vaults.. in my opinion T-Mack maximized each "phase", Run – Plant – Swing, based on his speed, as any vaulter in history) One and two toget...

Re: Lavillenie vs Bubka

PV2020 it was passed on to me that 1.5 to 2 years ago...he was in the 17.50 to 17.80 range and that he was 18.00 + (huge stretch) on the jump that broke the pole and i think broke his hand... i was told on facebook that his "MID" on the 6.21/injury jump was over 2 feet out... i do know the...

Re: Lavillenie vs Bubka

But that's with the understanding that a free takeoff means the pole and the vaulter are both rising up at the takeoff with no attempt to make the pole bend. i would say that an "up" impulse at takeoff is as much, or MORE responsible for a CORRECT takeoff than what we are trying to attrib...

Re: Lavillenie vs Bubka

Wan... You have said what needs to be said... Form follows Function.... You Run, you plant and you Swing.... Create the most "force" through each phase.. With the right grip and right pole and you have a great chance to PR or even set a world record.. My greatest respect goes to RL (and hi...

Re: New Box Collar Rule Interpretation (USTFCCCA)

Good morning, What's interesting is... I'm not sure ours (ETSU) has the number and we just bought it a couple of weeks ago! I'll check this morning... Maybe I blasted the company so badly they sent me the old none comply one...? Hopefully it will have the number.. But the front edge seam did come op...

Re: This is why the new box collar is more dangerous

The biggest problem is it doesn't work...

NCAA needs to change the requirement today...

Schools that have $20,000 dollar pits that cover the box area correctly cannot use the collar..

I don't believe those university presidents will spend 40,000 on new pits on a ruling that has a huge NO vote..

Re: Pole Vault Combine

Good stuff VP, We are under achieving. The problem I'm seeing year after year, even with our best vaulters is we are not addressing the real issues, one being that we are not running on the runway. T-Mack tried to run faster in 2000, didn't adjust quick enough. He adjusted some/enough in 2004 and we...

Re: Pole Vault Combine

Speed, how we are teaching (OR NOT TEACHING IT AT ALL)the approach run, short runs and SHORT RUN VAULTING.... IS what is keeping us ok but average... In the 80's and pre short run vaulting 9.4's/9.5mph over the last 4 steps was "average" now 9.1's/9.3's is the norms for American vaulters.....
