Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

It creates a complex curve for the CoM to follow and analyze and to do this discretely, at each step in time, which is what calculus does, makes it that much harder. You guys, most of you, have no idea how hard this is. I keep trying to show it and make it as simple as possible just to sort of get ...

Re: D'Encausse on ideal technique

Here, answer this question. It's very simple science theory. IF all things are equal, and these two vaulters have different heights, will they swing at the same rate? Clarify the difference in "things" and "considerations". But yes they do swing at the same rate on different sca...

Re: D'Encausse on ideal technique

And here I still am. Figure out what the necessary information would be and post it. I've told you what it would be, I'm just not going to do it again here and make things easy for you. Why should I? This is the first sign that you would do anything other than take shots at me. It's all here. I've ...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

If you have links or names of some tuck vaulters you're thinking of, I'll check them out. Okert Britts and Jeff Hartwig. And along with their tuck, they're bending the pole long before takeoff. Quite different than RL. Kirk Britts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MeM_kyiMjw I was not familiar with ...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

"Here F(tens) is the force on the pole, and one can see its greatest at the perpendicular to the ground and grows smaller as the swing progresses" - true statement if the brick wall (top hand grip location on the pole) is fixed (which it is not - since it moves upward and toward the pit -...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

Good pics, Will! A pic is worth 1K words! ... Here F(tens) is the force on the pole ... RL quickly balls up under the top hand and avoids being out away from the pole. If F(tens) represents tensile force, and F(grav) represents gravitational force, then these pics make a lot of sense. In comparison...

Re: 14 Foot Beginner PR

With vaulters at this stage I tend to think more intentional/psychological wording is superior which is why I didn't say anything about the arm. Trying to keep it simple. So there are some trade offs. In some sense this advises an experiment from the vaulter to become comfortable with some basic asp...

Re: D'Encausse on ideal technique

You claim that I haven't provided you with necessary information. I believe that I'll have no problem with that. You went to far out on a limb with your scientific theory regarding tall and short vaulters. Now you want out of this thread. And here I still am. Figure out what the necessary informati...

Re: D'Encausse on ideal technique

Also, you haven't provided all the necessary information. What else would you like? In my writings here I've provided everything you need to know to figure this out. So figure it out. If I had to tell you, you'd still never get it. Also, you might join in the other thread... http://www.polevaultpow...

Re: GRV: Lavillenie - From Stall Swing to World Record

When Lavillenie lifts his drive knee into take-off, his knee is pointed down more than Bubka's and his drive knee heel is raised to the horizontal and comes very close to striking him (If it does not?)in the buttocks. His COG is further lowered as he lower's his drive knee foot. Both of His feet ar...

Re: 14 Foot Beginner PR

Hey Everyone, I began vaulting in June of 2014 (this past summer) and I've been working very hard to get some big heights this winter and spring seasons. I came into this season with an unofficial PR of 12'6" and have been jumping 12' up until my latest meet. I jumped 3 PRs and finished with a...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9s3I2FuOaQ 6' 0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TWAbc5TdpM 5' 3" These gals look eerily similar in take off and swing. Very PB. Can you process them in your "rotating body conservation gravity vector analyzer" ? This is why one can take most of the P...
