Re: WC Women Finals - Another great competition!

That doesn't really address my question. I want to know what people think about her passion for the sport. I know we are all speculating, but I would still love to know what others think. Her break and performances of late sound like an athlete that just isn't into it. I mean it's not like she had a...

Re: WC Women Finals - Another great competition!

I wonder what everyone thinks about this. Isi takes almost a year off competes in one meet and then goes back to her old coach and her recent comps have not been that good. I get the feeling she's just not that into vaulting anymore. Any thoughts?

Re: A Vaulter's Potential

I think that the other problem, which I have mentioned in another post is that many kids don't look into Division 2 and 3 schools. In D 3 North Central has had many great vaulters and in my area places like Kutztown, Moravian, and Ramapo (where I coach) do good jobs as well. So many of the kids who ...

Hey Alan,

Why don't you want an Apex or Tailwind shirt? We feel left out.

Re: News Article on Private Coaches for Track

I don't think anyone is denying the fact that an athlete's hard work is the top priority. I always tell my kids that the hardest worker will be my best vaulter. What I don't understand is the fact that you are denying the fact that there is a need for vault coaches and clubs help fill that void. If ...

Re: Curiousity Question

It's funny but even with my more experienced and skilled vaulters I will work on other phases, like the turn, but it always goes back to take off. Obviously you need a good run to get the take off, but the take off is critical. You can't swing or do anything else too well if the take off is wrong.

Re: News Article on Private Coaches for Track

Great post pogo stick. I remember at Reno one year bringing up the idea that regions should pool their efforts. In the county that I mentioned previously we have over 50 high schools. As you might imagine there are not 50 pole vault coaches nor 50 sets of poles. After I mentioned this, the room went...

Re: News Article on Private Coaches for Track

First off I don't go to duel meets and I wasn't mentioning a duel meet. Also unless a kid rents a pole they usually don't even have the correct pole to jump on at a meet unless I am in attendance and brought poles. I have actually had head coaches express interest in me attending duel meets, but as ...

Re: News Article on Private Coaches for Track

It's funny that this was posted today. I am a club coach and went to a county relay meet today and was told I could not stay on the infield because I was not a school board approved coach. I have coached the girl's county record and have coached many of the best vaulters in the county over the last ...
