New Balance Indoor Grand Prix
Does anyone know a list of confirmed vaulters competing in the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, 2013? It's so annoying they never post lists of currently confirmed athletes. I would think you'd get much better ticket sales than keeping it &quo...

Re: Track Coach 202-Winter 2013
Sorry. You are right as it is not very professional to be as critical as I was and I admit I got alittle carried away. It is quite a bit more than opinion going on here though. This is much more of a "back lash" article against all of the disagreements on David's postings in this forum as ...

Track Coach 202-Winter 2013
David Bussabarger just wrote an article in the latest edition of "Track Coach" that I feel is very unfair to the world wide pole vault community and attempts to drive pole vault education in the wrong direction. We have all read his theories in this forum. This article appears to be more o...

Re: Mitchell Vault Complex - Vermont
Thanks! Not digging the runway out all winter like that. I just wanted to do it once for a cool pic : ). Plus my golden retriever was using the cleared runway for his bathroom. Had to recover the runway with lots of snow to protect it from my dog. Ha.

Re: Mitchell Vault Complex - Vermont
Vermont winter. Beautiful, but limits outdoor training pretty bad. Wooden "plug" I made supports the cover well between the front mats. Wooden "Water Shed Pyramid" I made, works awesome too. "Water Shed" is only 12" high and doesn't stretch the weather cover like i...

Re: Mitchell Vault Complex - Vermont
Ha. I've been asked that by a few people. The UCS weather cover is very heavy duty and does a pretty good job spreading out the load of rain and snow. I will be brooming off snow throughout the winter though regardless. That's all that's needed. I'm also building a 4'x4'x20" high "pyramid&...

Re: Rules Changes for South Carolina. Could kill some Clubs?
If you don't like the rules, get involved with the coaches association to change them, or do club-only. Not that I had this issue in Vermont, but what Becca states above is exactly what I did to be proactive. I'm a member of our State's indoor and outdoor Track Committees and I get support beyond b...

Re: USATF HONORS for Becca!
Congrats for sure! Your consistent, overwhelming involvement in the pole vault, much less USATF is incredible. I am very thankful for people like you. Makes my vault obsession seem like nothing. I use you as an example so my wife doesn't think I'm so crazy with vaulting. Helps alittle :) . Really is...

Re: Vault Box Collar in Europe
Those Nordic Sport collars come in two pieces. Ha. Guess they didn't test that very well. Most annoying thing about box collars is they move all over the place ( not including Jan Johnson's SafetyMax one ). I've never tried the UCS one, but I can't see how those "tabs" help much. I have no...

Mitchell Vault Complex - Vermont
Hi All, Figured I would let you know about the crazy project I was "forced" into doing. Forced yes, but ultimately making the "dream" a reality. Quick background: Back in August, 2012 my club (Mansfield Athletics Pole Vault Club) was forced to move out of our indoor space (this w...
