Request for old track gear

Hi all, I'm trying to put together examples of polevault gear throughout the years as well as other Track&Field implements for a small museum hopefully to be located in an indoor track soon. I have some of the "multi-part" crossbars from Gill that came as a kit complete with pink break...

Re: pole vault shelter drama

Well, It's important to remember that you can't really fix stupid . . . But I'd let the Supt. & the school board know what the kids have accomplished, and how this person is giving them "life lessons" as if he was even qualified to do so. if that isn't sufficient, a bunch of angry pare...

Re: The Black Stuff

Has anyone seriously considered the carsenogenic nature of using lighter fluid on an unknown adhesive on the tape? I know it's your body, and your decision, but you also influence a lot of the younger vaulters when they see you do this. It's just my opinion, but I think you should consider the healt...

Re: Pit full of dust and pollen

I don't know where the pit is located, BUT you can try some Tyvek house wrap cut to the same size as your foam in the top cover. Since it's a house wrap it would stop the passage of foam particles through the top of the pad. Most pads have a zipper on the rear for access. You would need a human squi...

Re: Weighing vaulters....

Now that would be an interesting concept... Additional handhold bands and weight ratings on poles every foot or so down a pole. I could go along with that. All we need is for a manufactuer to offer it. Actually, I think this has been offered in the past so the question might be if manufacturers wil...

Re: New pole Break in?

Becca is absolutly correct here. But if you do hit the bar going thru, just be sure to jump off the pit before it comes down so you won't get a scratch! Sorry, I just couldn't pass up on a opportunity to dispel another common vaulting rule myth. Becca is still correct on "breaking" in a po...

Who knew Bruce could coach?

Yesterday the Motley Crew Vault Club hosted its newest member . . . Bruce Caldwell ! Due to Bruce being in town for a meeting/conference in downtown Saint Louis MO we were able to kidnap him and spirit him away to our secret lair in Crystal City Underground to take him on a tour of the facility and ...

Re: Cave work beginning . . .

The area is now level and covered in compressed rock, and lighted The raised runwaw is 170' long and will shortly have rubber . . . The pit is defrosting and draining from a storm. Pits attract storms, who knew? That's all the news for now until I figure out how to get a photo posted Aloha, Vaultdad
