Re: Trying to get past 9'6"
It's hard to tell from this angle, but it appears that you are taking off under causing you to be yanked off the ground without giving you an opportunity to jump up at takeoff. Have a teammate catch your takeoff step for you. With the pole in the box, your top hand should be over the toe of your tak...

Re: Video Review
You need to connect to the pole at the top. By that I mean your top hand (right) has to connect to your right thigh, while at the same time straitening out your body out while inverted. It helps if you dorsiflex your feet (heels up, toes down - towards the ground). Then pull with both arms keeping y...

Re: Invert issues
Two big things are preventing you from inverting. 1. No swing - you are bending your tail leg and pulling both knees into your chest. That's not going to allow you to get your hips up high enough to invert. 2. You are "blocking out" with your bottom arm in an apparent effort to bend the po...

Re: Breaking in poles
I agree with everything Kirk has said and the advice he has given you. Allow me try to add to it a bit. A 14-170, held at 13' is equivalent to holding at 13' on a 13-190. So moving from the 13-170 Rocket to the 14-170 Pacer is like going up 4 poles at once. Not a good idea at the same grip and run. ...

Re: Need technique fixing for state
The one thing I would focus on, is getting both hands as high as you can during the plant and push the pole upwards towards the bar throughout the take off. You appear to pull yourself to the pole on takeoff and that causes you to loose a lot of the energy you have from the run. If you do that well,...

Re: Help, i can't get vertical when moving up a pole.
Please give us more to go on. For each of these videos, what is the pole length and weight rating, what is your grip, and how many Lefts is each run. Just a quick observation, you appear "under" in your second video - so your hips get sucked forward on TO and you are not able to get a good...

That .... It could hamper their technique to the point that they just can't use the pole. Kirk  Great advice by Kirk - this one sentence should have grabbed you, it did me. With only the info you have provided: Vaulter 1: Heavier than 155#, using a 12'6"-155, griping not higher than 12'6 ...

I agree, the BtoB DVD is a great resource. It used to be available on PvP, but it looks like the PvP store only has the book now. Book - http://polevaultpower.tictail.com/products/books Luckily for you the one chapter most useful for you is on youTube. Grandvaulter gave you the link already. Another...
