Re: Video Review: Male HS vaulter going 13' 6"
He is under on his step. By a whole shoe. Also, he lacks a knee drive after takeoff. Work on his run plant takeoff and a good drive knee. I agree his plant is late.

Re: loss of penitration with swing
Vaquest hit what I was going to say. No jump at takeoff. Think about doing a layup in basketball. If you don't jump up, you will never get the ball in the hoop. You can fix this with a couple of drills. String up a bungee at about nine feet in the air and work on run with trying to touch the bungee ...

Looking for 15' 145, 150, 155
I'm looking for 15' 145, 150, and 155. I'm in the Chicagoland area but I'm willing to pay for shipping for the right price. I prefer Gill poles but I'm will to entertain other poles.

Re: inversion critique
Look at your head position after takeoff. You continue to look down at the box. You need to look through your bottom hand as soon as you know you are in the box. Makes difficult to swing with chin down. Get on a high bar and trying swing with your head down. Then, swing up with your head up. You'll ...

Can wait in Illinois. It's a new rule for high schools this Track season. Bought mine last season to get my seniors used to it. No problems so for. Wish I could have spent the $600 on poles.

Re: RIP Alan Launder (altius)
Alan's passing is a great loss for the pole vault community. His book sits on my end table and I read before every track season.
My prayers go out to his family. Alan will be greatly missed.
May he rest in peace,
Coach Tom Hickey

Re: forcing and controlling the bend
He was holding at 12' on a 13' 170. He did it without any knee drive. He has a great run, solid plant, and a big jump at take off. These are the things we work on everyday with all my vaulters. I have never taught a vaulter to bend the pole. That happens with the right grip, the right pole, and good...
