NBC Contact page for sending pole vault video feedback. My message wouldn't send though. Maybe it was too long, not sure. I'll try again later.

Re: Complete Olympic WPV Qual Video
Want access to BBC Olympic videos? This couldn't be easier and it's free trial is a week long which is perfect for the Olympics:

You still have access to US stuff with this as well. It just "unblocks" the US IP crap. Doesn't work for eurovisionsports though.

Complete Olympic WPV Qual Video
With all of the negative feedback on NBC Olympic coverage, I give them a 99% approval solely because of this: They have the COMPLETE womens pole vault qualification video replay stream! It's in full 1080 HD too. Absolutely unreal! My only gripe is there's no way to capture/download the damn stream. ...

Re: Advice for College Vaulting Seekers
Great write-up. I agree 100%. I attended Penn State myself and absolutely loved the school, but was saddened by their lack of vault coaching when I was there. I realize most schools do not have "good" coaching, much less "great" coaching, but PSU is one of those places with crazy...

Re: Relative stiffness of smaller Altius poles
I swore Lane told me they used to sell them in the past and stopped after they decided they didn't need them for the vague reason I stated above. I had the conversation with him a year or so ago. I could be mistaken as I don't remember 100%.

Re: Relative stiffness of smaller Altius poles
Man, I feel your pain with UCS not making 12' 6" poles anymore. Ridiculous from a young girl's point of view. I have a very talented HS girl who is 5' 1" and weighs 100lbs. I had to get her jumping on a 12' 120lbs pole before I could move her grip up on a UCS since I had to go to a 13' 100...

Another shot showing a more obvious block at the shoulders:

Re: Take off and Penetration Problems
My coach is saying its because I need to keep pushing the pole and keep pressure on the pole
Sounds like your coach may have been telling your the right thing. The constant "ACTION" of pressing both hands high.

Re: Take off and Penetration Problems
Aside form the "tuck and shoot" that Altius described, you are blocking with your shoulders at take-off. Common problem when vaulters focus on pressing a good plant into take-off. I had the issue myself. This causes you to never hit a maximized pre-stretch and your COM is too far behind th...

Re: How Hooker got his groove back
I tell you what. I now support Red Bull to the fullest. It's unreal the money they have put up to support our professional athletes. This is no "great" setup for Hooker, it's over the top and then some. Just an absolute dream. Red Bull did the exact same thing for Shawn White (One of the b...

Wow! That is the most technically executed vault I've ever seen from a non Pro and better than alot of Pros. She should break the National record easily before she graduates. Congrats! I'm still sitting here in disbelief over that execution.
