 Yes! Thanks for dedicating your clinic to the memory of Altius! :rose:  If I recall, I think you did that last year too! Kirk p.s. PVP has not been the same without him. No more English idioms, like " don't get your knickers in a knot " ... " spot on mate "...

Re: Can't stop going to the left

By "in your takeoff", what I mean is that your top hand isn't directly vertical above your takeoff foot. Therefore, it *must* be off to the left a tad too much. If it was off to the right (typically due to a late plant, or not reaching up as high as you should), then you'd drift right. But...

Re: Can't stop going to the left

Archer, I was at first thinking that your vid was excellent - taken from the right view for the issue that you're trying to figure out. But unfortunately, it doesn't show your takeoff foot when you leave the ground. That might be revealing. I do note that your trail leg is at what I would consider a...

Re: Renaud Lavillenie by Cedric Klapicsh... Link to video

I got this message, when I tried to run the vid (I used Google to translate Fr to En):

For reasons of rights granted to France Télévisions, this video is not available from your location .

US Olympic Trials - Men's PV - Kendricks 5.91; Simmons; Cunningham

Today's results: http://trialsresults.usatf.org/

Congratulations and good luck to Sam Kendricks. He has a good chance for an Olympic Bronze, possibly higher if Lavillenie or Barber faulter. :star:

I also think that he has a good chance to join the 6.00m club soon!

Re: Help with better inversion and staying closer to the pole

First, read my posts in the thread titled "How to "go up - not out"? Roll the pole! It's basic physics!". You can find it by searching for "kirk basic physics". Your style of vaulting is quite a bit like Jason Colwick's! An extreme double-leg swing! I'm not going to say...

Re: Next Pole

Never mind about the vid. I just found it here: http://www.polevaultpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=55936 I would say that you can improve quite a bit in the next year, and once you do, you really will be mushing out your pole. Since this thread is in the Equipment forum, I'll move to your ...

Re: Next Pole

Take a look at Jan Johnson's (Skyjumpers) Pole Chart here: http://www.vstraining.com/skyjumpers/component/content/article/93-articles/pole-vault/65-pole-progression-chart Your pole has a relative stiffness of 31 on that chart, so my guess is that a 13-6 150 (relative stiffness = 33) might be your be...
