Re: USA Lists

There have been several years it took 5.65m to get in. Seems quite weak regardless of the other factors.

technical model

This thread may belong in advanced tech section but I was thinking it was ironic that all three USA team members were classic "tuck and shoot" vaulters. All have extreme shortening of the radius but manage to jump on monster big poles.

In 2004 Mack seemed to do several things that you guys are really missing the point on. Agapit makes it sound like there was some lightbulb moment. He has told many people that it was the culmination of 4 years of preparation. He set his training up to allow him to peak at that time. Yes his run got...

I think that Lawrence had a wonderful career in college and afterwards. It seemed to me that he was on track to jump very very high under the coaching of agapit. I think the injuries probably kept him from being a 6m+ vaulter. I do think that you cannot take away the success he had in college though...

Here is an analogy and this should sum all this mumbo jumbo up. the human body had very similar relationships to the LEFT ARM PUSH VS. PULL ISSUE. the popliteus muscle is a small muscle behind the knee. it is small but important. the hamstrings do 99% of the knee bending. however, if the leg is full...

It seems to me that these various arguments are so abstract that nothing is really gained by trying to defend one "model" versus the other. I believe that there are a few CONCRETE truths to the vault which cannot be debated by anyone due to physics. Now the way that you "describe"...

Tennessee: avg. of top 10 list based on the above post = about 5.52m. thats a pretty good average for 10 guys. I wonder how many schools average over 18 feet for their top 10 list. I bet texas is pretty good.
