Re: Biofreeze

I've used it before, it works wonders! But be sure that once you put it on there is no contact with water, it has somewhat of a tripling effect. The same thing goes for washing it off: Once its on for about 30 seconds don't wash it, one of my friends had a bad experience there. Other than that...

Steve Hooker

I keep reading on here that the russian model is the only effective way to jump 6 meters and beyond. However, if you take a look at the following attempt of 6.16 meters by steve hooker, you can see he does a tuck and shoot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou7blc4wsAc&feature=related C...

Re: ABOUT ALAN LAUNDER Author of the Beg. to Bubka!

Now thats what I have been saying for at least 3 years! Don't forget his skills in the education facet of the event. This you have to watch as you go to a clinic. If you can't I have the videos of Alan teaching at on of my winter clinics in Oregon. Hi! Can you post those videos anyway, I don't quit...

Re: Building a base

This summer I'm only going to have access to a vaulting facility for two weeks: I'm working a middle school clinic early in the off-season from june 27-28 and again later in the summer from august 19-22 at a camp. I've joined a local 'gym' because there is tons of stuff I can do there: Full gymnasti...

Re: tight muscles?

I don't know abot everyone else, but sometimes music tends to calm me down. When its nice (or even rainy) its always relaxing to just turn on the good old ipod and play some light music while looking at the sky. Ever consider those vibrating back massagers? They cost between $10-25 dollars and are p...

Thanks for the feedback here!

Anyone have a better website where I could find tons of slow mo vids?

A College Vaulter

This isn't me, but I was wondering what all of you would have to say on this jump: http://www.cortland.edu/athletics/mtrack/zanettipolevault2009.mov The only information I know is that the bar is at 16' 7" I want to use this almost as a model because it is clear, concise, and very slow. Let me ...

Re: THE BEST THREADS FOR BEGINNERS TO READ!

Coming from a beginner: Don't be afraid to ask questions, everything I'm curious about that my coaches don't know I come on hear and ask. I've improved so much in the two months that I've been reading these forums, I mean two feet only comes with hard work and good training. Besides asking questions...

Re: bottom arm plant help

Thanks Kirk, but even if I have no injury (which I felt fine during practice today), am I supposed to keep my arm rigid or bent. This confuses me a lot because people tell me if you keep your arm rigid you "block out." So whats correct?!
