Re: Milestones

Bubba That is a great stat, actually it is kind of mind blowing. I lost one of my streaks ( consecutive years over 13' at 33 years) a couple of years ago with my left foot problem but I have kept my other streak going ( consecutive years clearing a height), by first spending one year vaulting left h...

Re: Raising the Bar vault club competition

Becca
I am not sure what the club has but I will find out and let you know tomorrow night. I, personally have no 11'6" poles but I do have the following 11' poles you could borrow 110#, 125#, 130#, 130#soft, 135# stiff.

Re: Raising the Bar vault club competition

We will be splitting into two groups as we did last year with the dividing line somewhere between PR's of 11' and 12" depending on the makeup of the group. We will give the second group (higher vaulters) a separate warm up.

Re: SafetyMax Box collar

Kirk I did not attack you personally I just stated my thoughts I don't appreciate being referred to as a tobacco salesman. We sell a perfectly fine steel vault box for approximately $200.00 quite a bit cheaper than that $800.00 for a specialized box and If you think the cost of having to cut out the...

Re: Carbon Poles Vs. Fiberglass Poles

PVjunkie Thanks for the great explanation on some of these pole questions. I would like to add that we all should be careful making judgments about poles from just watching someone vault. There are so many variables in every jump from the materials, make up, length, and flex of the pole to the vaulte...

Re: SafetyMax Box collar

Kirk, Sorry but you are incorrect about the manufacturing. I have worked for 4 track and field manufacturing companies and the tooling and extra steps involved in making these other designs would increase the cost. Just check out the added cost in the Gill Catalog for their Cast aluminum vault box t...

Re: SafetyMax Box collar

Not to be a downer but I say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Seems to me that if you looked at all the good jumps versus bad jumps the box would be near the bottom ( no pun intended) of reasons for either. I just don't think it is an issue. Perhaps a different shaped planting box could ...

Re: USA All-Time Top Ten

Seems like Kory Tarpening jumped something around 19' 3" or 5.87m sometime in the late 80's or early 90's at the National championships in Indianapolis? And also didn't Billy Payne jump around 19'2" at some point?

Re: PP42's Senior Year Training Blog

PP, yes you have blindly criticized me on a number of occasions and I was not blindly criticizing you I was trying to help you understand that what you need is some coaching not meet vaulting. I have followed this topic and it is obvious to me that at least you talk a good game about wanting to be a...

I'm sorry PP but that response is just one more indication of just how much you just don't get it.

Re: Dumas Passes 1,000 Mark

I would also like to congratulate you Gerard. You have been and continue to be a great inspiration to me. To put this into some perspective just imagine vaulting in 20 meets in a year for 50 years to get to 1000. Even in my prime I am not sure I ever did many more than 20 meets in a year and of cour...
