Exchange Year

Unread postby marcia » Thu Feb 08, 2007 12:49 pm

Hey !! I hope somebody can help me ! I'm from Germany and I want to spend the next year as an exchange student in the usa. Unfortunately not all high schools offer pole vault and that's why I am looking for a high school that would accept me as an exchange student and gives me the opportunity to practice pole vault. By the way, my PB is 11'5 .
I hope anybody can help me.

thanks, marcia

The US is a super big country and this is a really vague request.

Have you at least narrowed down what part of the US you would like to be an exchange student in?

I believe there is a German guy vaulter who is an exchange student in California. That is a good part of the country for pole vaulting.

we hand a german foreign exchange student who vaulted at my high school for a while. She was pretty good too!

My high school was O'Fallon Township High School in O'fallon, Illinois. One of the best academic High Schools in the nation (top 25, if I remeber correctly).

Russiaville, Indiana (just west of Kokomo, Indiana) at Western High School. Great coach in Bill Burkholder, he vaulted at Purdue University and really knows his stuff. Good competion around the area too.

Hey Marcia!!!

We had an exchange student come to our school from France. He came and vaulted for us, having never tried it in his life, and was jumping 11'6" his first track season! You should definetely consider coming to our school! It would be great! We are located about an hour east of San Francisco in California. It is a city called Brentwood. Hope to hear from you! Don't be hesitant in shooting me an email if you are interested.
