I assumed it was rhetorical too, but I wouldn't mind hearing about the exact relationships that some of these vaulters have with their relatives.

There's a lot of familiar last names listed!

For example, Riley Richards. I assume grandson of Bob, but son of who? Paul, Tom, Brandon or Bob Jr.?

Zach McWhorter's Dad, Rick, interviewed at UT-Houston Medical School when I was faculty and Mike Holloway was one of our students. During his interview day, he actually stopped by my office because he saw some pole vault crap on my door.

I see he went to UTSA instead.

Funny thing is that I had just returned from the National Masters Meet, which was at BYU (where Rick was a student at the time), where I had no-heighted.

I can confirm that Riley Richards is indeed Brandon's son. That's my boy!! :D It is so great to see all of our sons competing and becoming lifelong friends just like all of us fathers did! Passing the torch to the next generation...
