NCAA question

Seems we get this question in the NorthEast area every year at the beginning of outdoor season, and I can't remember the answer. In outdoor season, if the PV is held indoors (for safety reasons) can results be used to qualify for other meets? And is the ruling different for DI, DII, or DIII? If you know the answer please let me know and where I can find this rule would also be a help. Thanks

Dan

I know last year for NCAA DI it was fine for regional qualifying, but those things have a way of changing from year to year...

I have no idea about the NCAA rule, but it would be kind of interesting if it is not accepted. IAAF accept indoor results for qualification to the world championship in Korea.

Pole vault and high jump marks made indoors count towards outdoor marks if moved inside due to weather D-1.

Where can you find this in the rule books?

I know for "D1" this rule was put into effect about 3 years ago - the pole vault MUST start outside then it can be moved indoors due to weather.

It is legal in all three divisions and it is not in the rule book rule, it is in the NCAA DI,II,III Handbooks under qualifying. Handbooks are on-line at www.ncaa.org.
