How many guys will jump 18ft in 2013??

Unread postby KYLE ELLIS » Wed Dec 12, 2012 12:50 am

I counted up 10 returners that have already jumped 5.50+. Plus there is 7 returners at 40 or better; and 2 17'6 highschool kids coming in. I'm going to say 15 conservatively. Any idea on what's the most amount of college jumpers over 18ft in one year?? It's going to be a tough year to say the least.

Sounds like it's going to be a good/tough year in the NCAA.
My guess for most in a year would be 1985 18' was 8th place at the NCAA Championships that year. And I can think of at least 3 or 4 who had a 5.50 mark coming into that meet that didn't clear 18' there.

It usually takes 5.38 to get into Indoor Nationals. Is this the year it takes 5.50. We will see.
