Congrats to the athletes and coaches in a great competition. Was that a PR for Blankenship and Duplantis? We definitely have an exciting bunch of young vaulters coming up.

I would love to be able to watch this competition if anyone has a link to footage. Morry?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,

Man, I wish I did have some footage! I've been checking youtube and hoping someone posted something. Andrew's mom got some video of him but I haven't seen it yet.

It was a great competition! Andreas looked great and got a new PR that should get him into nats! Jake was dead on with his jumps and looked like a million bucks! Andrew was making bars but taking a lot of jumps to make them. He just wasn't putting together very technically sound jumps, except on 5.50. He blew that up! You can tell by looking at the results that he never had the lead until he made 5.60. Sam Kendricks didn't make a big bar in this meet, but he's going to jump really high! That kid knows how to swing! Although the multis are his bread and butter, I think Kevin Lazas will go 5.50 really soon!

I'm excited that nationals are in Fayetteville and I get to go! Should be a fun competition to watch, especially with ten 5.50+ guys on that runway!

Thanks for the details Morry; I had seen the X's and O's and definitely picked up on the closeness of the comp. I have seen Kendricks' jumps from last year and I agree, he has massive potential. It's going to be a good year for the college men, if everyone can stay healthy...maybe it will be the first time more than one collegiate vaulter clears 19'?...
