Pole Vault – University/College Men, Section A
Winner: Bobby Most, Texas Tech

"This is one of the meets I’ve been looking forward to all year. I had a lot of family and hometown support, so there was some pressure to succeed. It was my first meet of the outdoor season because I was coming off a groin injury from indoor nationals. We had perfect conditions today and the best competition in the nation was here. It might not have been their best day, but I had mine. The key to this victory was taking it easy the last three weeks. I played it smart and didn’t overwork or overtrain. I also tried to not let the pressure get to me. This is a big meet and this win shows I’ve been working hard.â€Â

I've known "little bobby" since was knee high to a grass hopper,(a very tall grasshopper) A PR couldn't happen for a better guy. That was a big victory at the Texas Relays for the Most dude. The rest of the field was way too impressive also, do not want to slight any of the other vaulters there, it was one of our best comps recently.

After a rough indoor season, I think it's safe to say that Trevor Woods is back.

I wasn't aware of Trevor's bad indoor season, this was my first opportunity to see him jump, that guy has some jump in him. It was a first class vault field with great vaulting. This group of vaulters should be in for a heck of an outdoor season judging by how they looked here. Good luck to all of 'em and thanks for making that such a great competition.
