Skipper Ties Pole Vault School Record in MPSF Finale

SEATTLE – In second and final day action Saturday in the Mountain Pacific Championships at the University of Washington’s Dempsey Indoor Center, junior Tommy Skipper won his second federation title and tied his indoor school record (18-8 3/4) (see video link in MULTIMEDIA box to the right).
The returning NCAA indoor champion opened his day with first attempt clearances at NCAA automatic qualifying marks of 18-0 1/2 (5.50m) and 18-8 3/4 (5.71m). Skipper then tried three attempts at tying the collegiate record of 19-2 1/4 (5.85m) set by former Texas athlete Jacob Davis in 1999, but was unsuccessful.
