What Event Will Be Next?

Here are some ideas from some coaches interviewed by the Tacoma News Tribune.

Personally, I would like to see them add the boys DMR, and at least add hammer as an official exhibition event.

The List

Five track coaches listed the next event that likely will be sanctioned by the WIAA:

Brian Brickert, Shelton "The hammer. It's an exciting event to watch."

Paul Ruston, South Kitsap "The distance medley, to give more equity to distance events."

Mark Salzman, Curtis "Hammer ... because that is the next one that everybody seems to be doing in exhibition."

Bill Sumner, Auburn Riverside "The distance medley, and drop the (800 relay) because it's tough to come up with that many sprinters."

Sue Williams, Puyallup "We need to get rid of one such as the (800) relay and bring in a distance medley because there are too many sprint relays."
