moving the meet untill later? CIF Finals

Unread postby newPVer » Mon May 12, 2008 10:06 pm

So rumor has it that because of the heat that is supposed to roll into the Mt. Sac area this weekend, the meet may be turned into a night meet. With events starting around 4 and finishing under the lights. I'd much rather do it that way compared to being on the track at 1 when its over 90 out there.

What does everyone else think?

Great season, time to top it

Night time vaulting at Mt. Sac is not very favorable to the vaulters.

No matter how warm it is during the day, the temp. will drop at night at mt. sac. Look at the past few 'night meets' at mt sac and see the lackluster results.

You live in So-cal "newPVer" enjoy the heat! :D

Good luck dude!

i kinda hate that because i'm sort of blind ahaha

its annoying when it gets dark and they put the lights on, since i cant see as well as during the day.

maybe its just in my head though because last week i started at like 730 with lights and won league with a PR.

the problem is it takes 4hrs for each vault, plus warmups. the girls usually end under the lights anyways AND theres no other events running.

typically, the vault starts before any other event and ends after all events are done. I see no difference in this year.
at least the heat this weekend at msac wont be ANYTHING like it was at arcadia. that was the 2nd hottest meet I've been at in my life. and we have it good here. the worst was Jr Nats in 96 in Columbus, OH. 105 on the field with 95% humidity.

bring shade, start hydrating now, and learn how to jump in bad conditions. everyone else is jumping in the same conditions as you!
