ALL COMERS MEETS IN AUSTIN -POLE VAULT ADDED

Unread postby mcantu3814 » Tue Jun 26, 2007 11:22 am

THEY ADDED THE POLE VAULT, ALTHOUGH WE WILL HAVE TO RUN AND JUDGE THE EVENT OURSELVED. IT'S ONLY 3 DOLLARS TO ENTER. THE LINK IS DOWN SO JUST EMAIL THEM WITH YOUR INTENTIONS OF ATTENDING.

lace up the spikes and run in fast circles (well...ovals to be exact). bring back memories of those high school glory days (we know...you should have been the state champ) with our all-comer's track meet series...and enjoy a delicious and nutritious moonpie to boot.
"double decker moonpie"
all-comer's track meet series

When?
Race 1: friday, july 6, 5:30 p.m
Race 2: friday, july 20, 5:30 p.m
Race 3: friday, august 3, 5:30 p.m
Race 4: friday, august 24, 5:30 p.m

Where?
Race 1: texas school for the deaf
Race 2: texas school for the deaf
Race 3: texas school for deaf
Race 4: tba

Why?
the 3 F's of course.... fun, fast, and financially friendly (hey...that's 4 F's). yeah...we are charging a little (compared to our free swedish fish races), simply to cover our costs. but only $3/event or $5 for all the events you can handle. come on...be a man (or woman) and do them all. we wanted to give austinites a chance to run fast. we can almost guarantee PR's will fall as you toe the line chacing that elusive moonpie in the sky (oh...and it will be timed and results will be posted)

we'll also be giving out some pretty cool door prizes as well....so come put your name in the hat. THERE WILL BE FOOD AND DRINKS (SORRY...NO BEER AT THESE) SO JUST SHOW UP WITH YOUR FAMILY AND RUNNING SHOES.

Who?
you of course.if you were directed to this page for any reason at all you are officially invited. we welcome kids and adults of all ages. sorry...no pets can run in these races (see swedish fish races), but they're more than welcome to watch.

there will be a team competition with points recorded...SO PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU ARE ON A TEAM (ex... gazelles, team tronky, rogue, jack and adams, source endurance, etc..) you can make your own team if you would like...just get people to sign up.

double decker moonpie?
to continue the tradition of our unusual and meaningless names we put our thinking caps on. you see...back in college we were too poor to buy powerbars, clifbars, recovery drink, or any of that fancy stuff. we had a buddy who passed out moonpies at his wedding and had a ton left over. that officially became our post-workout recovery mechanism of choice....the trusty double decker moonpie. it's actually full of 'stuff that helps you recover"...and probably some other stuff that we don't want to mention. but hey...they sure are tasty, and they're "the only one on the planet"

Tx School for the Deaf may have the greatest crosswind in Texas. I jumped there a few times way back in '98 or so until they quit putting out their pit. I've never seen on out there since. I wonder if it's the same one?
