Jr. High poles

Unread postby mcook » Thu Jan 17, 2008 4:40 pm

What would be a good range of poles for my Jr. High boy vaulters. I have 3 that range in weight from about 95 to 120. None of them are advanced vaulters. They vaulted as 7th graders, but we didn't have the money to get poles. They came a long way stiff poling, but it's time to get serious about bending a pole. Any help would be appreciated.

Bending a pole is the result of good technique. If you approach it trying to bend a pole, the kids will be using poor technique and significantly increase their chance for injury.

How high do they grip?
High high do they vault?
How many steps do they take for above?
What's your pole budget?
Do you have poles you can trade/sell?
