AUSTIN — For the second year in a row, Navarro High School senior Sarah Korn proved to be the second best pole vaulter in Class 2A after another solid showing at the University of Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Korn, who cleared 11-6 last year at state, earned her second silver medal Friday morning at the same height — one she said she struggled with all year.

“I did it last year at state and I hadn’t done it again until now,” she said. “I just practiced a ton and worked really hard because there was a lot of pressure to get back to where I was last year, so I had to work extra hard.”
