The 2009 LoJo Vault Assault Summer Camp will be a 2 separate week, five day pole vault camp beginning Sunday, June 28th, 2009 - Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 and Sunday, July 5th, 2009 - Thursday, July 9th, 2009 in Columbia, SC. The VA Camp will provide vaulters of all levels an opportunity to expand their pole vault skills with LoJo and the Vault Assault Camp staff in small group sessions for individualized attention. The experience will also include special presentations and guidance from elite guest coaches including Roman Botcharnikov, one of the world's most knowledgeable vault coaches.

Campers will be separated into groups to learn and experience drills and training in sprint mechanics, pole carry and drop mechanics, gymnastics, and of course pole vaulting. Each full day of activities includes 3 full training sessions, Courtyard Marriott accommodations (for resident campers), meals, and additional time for "private coaching", coaching/training seminars, and social activities.

The LoJo Vault Assault Winter Pole Vault Camp is limited to 50 vaulters.

Do to a lot of questions regarding poles and travel, please read the following regarding pole avaiabality during camp. You can find more information at http://www.lojovaultassault.com.

What about pole selections? Do I need to bring my poles?

Thank you for your interest in the LoJo Vault Assault Summer Camp. We understand the difficulty of traveling with poles, so we will have some poles available. With 80 plus poles available for use, we can more specifically answer your request if you share the range of poles you currently use. When you forward the brand, weight, and/or flex of the pole, we will check our inventory for you. Please forward any pole questions to registration@lojovaultassault.com. Bringing your own poles will help you, however for what ever reason you are not able to and if we have them, you can most defiantly use them.

In other words, most beginning/intermediate high school girls will need to bring their own poles. A 12'120 is an awfully big smallest pole. Maybe you guys could borrow some 11 footers from a local HS or something.

Yeah...12' 120 is pretty large...until I bought a pole, our lowest was a 12'6" 120/125 [i forget which] Pacer Mystic and then I got an 11' 110. There were a few who had to use the 120, but not many...like, 2/3. One uses a 140, but only 1. And then for outdoor, we ended up borrowing an altius [idk height/weight] for regionals and states from a different school.

I'm bringing an 11' 110 but it'd be VERY helpful if you guys tried to borrow from a local HS or something.

Anyone been to a LoJo vault camp let me know your experience (is it worth the expense?), thinking of going to the winter vault over Christmas break? Thanks!
