Hello all,

One of my students has recently moved to Providence, RI and wishes to continue her vaulting. Could anyone let me know of coaches or facilities in that area?

Thanks.

Unfortunately you're not going to find much in Rhode Island. I think the 4 closest clubs are all out of state...

SkyJumpers Connecticut - located in Norwich, CT approximately 50 miles away. Head coach is Russ Versteeg (He's "Russ" on this board)

MIT Pole Vault Club - based at MIT in Cambridge, MA approximately 55 miles away. Head folks are Patrick Barragan and Nate Ball (MIT PV Coaches)

New England Pole Vault Club based in the Boston area approximately 45 miles away. Head coach is Brenner Abbott (Northeastern University PV Coach)

Patriot Pole Vault Club - based in Westborough, MA & Shirley, MA approximately 40/60 miles away

You can also contact Coach John Hoogasian from Holy Cross - he has been known to help several post-collegiate vaulters as well.

Can't go wrong with any of these folks. Of course I'm slightly partial to the Patriots :-)

Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions

Totally on the mark about Mark Strawderman - he doesn't have a club of his own per se but he has "ins" all around New England and can usually find a place for folks to jump. All around cool dude too :-)
