Shovel Snow instead of lifting today

Unread postby Russ » Mon Feb 17, 2003 7:46 pm

So I'm here in Connecticut, and we've got about 1.5 feet of snow. Usually I lift on Mondays but I've shoveled my driveway twice already today (2 hours of aerobic exercise and upper-body work), and I'm sure that I'll have to shovel again tomorrow at least once more. You know if you hold the shovel like a pole, you lose some efficiency but you can simulate a lot of the vaulting motion and work the vaulting muscles.

Anybody else lifting a shovel today instead of weights?

Hey, since everybody on the east coast is probably stuck inside, we should be able to set a new record for the number of users on polevaultpower at any one time, right?
